Lena Katina, along with Julia Volkova, was the musical duo known as t.A.T.u, an international recording sensation that sold upwards of 10 million records worldwide. With t.A.T.u., Lena toured the world while reigning as a chart topping act in Europe with their number 1 single 'All the Things She Said' and their follow-up smash hit, 'Not Gonna Get Us'.


With t.A.T.u, Lena became the first artist to ever receive the IFPI Europe platinum award for the same album in two different languages while her album '200 Km/h in the Wrong Lane' went platinum several times over. Lena received the MTV Legend Award for her work with t.A.T.u.


Lena Katina was born in Moscow on October 4th to artistic parents. Her father Sergey Katin, was a famous producer-songwriter and the creator of Dyuna, an extremely popular pop band in the 1980s. Lena's mother, Inessa Katina, also an accomplished musician, studied at the music university in Russia.


Encouraged by her parents, at the age of 4, Lena began exploring her artist talents, engaging in figure skating, swimming, gymnastics, acting classes, and horseback riding before settling upon music school.


Lena began playing piano when she was four. She entered music school to study classical piano at age 6. By 9 Lena was in a children's band called Avenue. This is when she began her performance career as a singer. At the age of 12 Lena joined the group Neposedy, a band she would leave at the age of 14 to audition for t.A.T.u.


Lena was an international recording star at age 15 with her hit 'All The Things She Said'. The video for 'All the Things She Said' was filmed one month before Lena turned 16.


While pursuing her musical career, Lena successfully managed to complete her university studies at the Moscow Social Humanitarian University where she majored in Psychology.


In 2011 Lena embarked on her solo career. She packed her bags and moved from Moscow to Los Angeles, the epicenter of the music world.



Her first solo release, 'Never Forget', has received positive critical reviews and is still making its way up the charts globally while the remix of Never Forget was number 1 on the Billboard Chart, pushing Madonna from the top spot. The song is currently number one and in the top 20 in numerous countries around the world.

 

In 2012, she collaborated with German producer/DJ Clark Owen, with their collaborative single 'Melody', and collaborating with Russian rapper T-Killah with 'Ya Budu Ryadom' and its English coounterpart 'SHOT'. Both 'Ya Budu Ryadom' and 'SHOT' successfully entered the charts in Europe.

 

In 2013, Lena Katina returns solo with her new single, 'Lift Me Up' alongside its Spanish counterpart, 'Levantame'. In addition, she launched her first sold-out 'Fan Weekend' in Cologne, Germany. During the 'Fan Weekend', KATINATION, the global-based fan-club of Lena Katina was launched.

 

In 2014, it is known that t.A.T.u.'s music video debut, "All The Things She Said", will enter the prestigious VEVO Certified Awards for its 100 million views, as for January 2014 the video has been watched on VEVO and YouTube for over 50 million times.

 

VEVO Certified Awards will add Lena's, as well as Julia's and t.A.T.u.'s list of awards. On October 7, Lena released her third single 'Who I Am', with her anticipated debut album 'This is Who I Am' finally entered the world on November 18.

After a year hiatus due to motherhood, Lena Katina announced that 'Esta Soy Yo', the Spanish counterpart of her debut, finally gets a green light on July 1st.

 

In 2018, she released a new single dedicated to t.A.T.u. entitled "После нас/Posle Nas", followed by 3 other singles at the same year, before finally releasing her second album, first in Russian, entitled "Mоно/Mono" in 2019.



With new projects coming, Lena Katina is ready to conquer the music world once again, but this time, she's on her own.

It was established in August 2011 via Facebook, and was authorized by Lena's management on April 2012 as official fan page, making Lena Katina Indonesia was the first official South East Asian fan base for Lena Katina.
